As of right now, my 2012 looks like it’s going to be a pretty huge year. This is what I have on my list:
Graduate
Progress: On track to graduate in August, 2012 (2 classes left to take)
Get my first real job
Progress: Done! Starting in May, 2012.
Buy a home
This might happen in six months, or it might happen in 11 months, but ultimately I think that buying a home is on our short-term horizon. I am not too sure whether this will be an apartment, condo, townhome or acreage, but I just know that’s what we’re shooting for.
Start paying down student loan to $12,100
Loan Amount: $14,500
Start an RRSP – and contribute to it ($25/biweekly + found money)
Progress: Opened RRSP with ING Direct
Current Balance: $425
Lose 10 more lbs to weigh in at 140 lbs – and keep it off
Progress: 11.9 lbs to go
Current weight: 151.9
Make an extra $500/month
January extra income: $350
February extra income: $300
March extra income: $250
April extra income: 200
May extra income: $320

OOhh, you made an extra $200 this month, that’s great progress thus far, what’s your secret?! Making more money is always a fabulous way to start the year and congrats on your upcoming graduation!
I actually just sold a textbook, worked a weekend day, and sold three pairs of shoes. This isn’t steady income but it helps!
