Saturday Links & Blogs I Love: Relaxation Edition

Have you subscribed to my blog yet? I will love you forever if you do. Bonus points if you follow me on Twitter and LIKE WLGYL on Facebook :)

Once again, my link love that is titled FOR Saturday is showing up on a Sunday. Yesterday was a bit of a lazy day for me. After a busy weekend last weekend, I caught up on some blogging, commenting, etc. It was delightful to just not do anything for once. The best part is, there is no homework hanging above my head.

Yes, that’s right! I graduate in a week. I have already pretty much done so, with an A in my pracitcum class. But I do have a final. After that, I’m scott free!

Posts I Loved

Cents of a Country Girl posted about loving where she lives. It’s a nice reminder to appreciate your surroundings.

Edward Antrobus proposes that if SEO (or really anything else) confuses you, hire a professional. I like outsourcing to a limit. Edward hired Jeremy from Modest Money, who I would totally hire if I wanted to do some SEO work on my blog.

Finance Fox posted about being hostage to his cellphone plan and the little effort that goes into retaining customers once they already have you locked into a plan. This struck a cord with me because I’ve always hated my plan provider and I can’t WAIT until February when I’m free from their reigns.

Erika at From Shopping to Saving asks: “Have you ever been so happy with your life that you just wanted to cry? If not, what are you planning on doing to get there?”  Fabulous question.

L Bee and the Money Tree cracked me up with her post about her dogs gross obsession.

Michelle at Sense of Cents recapped habits to kick in your 20s. I’m happy to report that I am not guilty of any of these, save for maybe shopping ;) .

Sydney at Untemplater posts about coping with the agony of waiting. I hate waiting, and I was tweeting about it a couple of weeks ago when waiting for a call about my interviews.

Jeremy at Modest Money posted again about using keywords on your blog, as part of his blogging tips series. I am trying to use his tips and my search engine results have doubled in the past few months from listening to his advice.

Andrea at So Over This posts about customer service and the lack of good experiences she’s had lately. I’m constantly disappointed by Roger’s customer service, and I know how frustrating it is.

New Commenters

Once again, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention those people who are new commenters lately. Gotta appreciate them!

Elizabeth @ Simple Finance Blog

Ornella @ Moneylicious

My Credit Card War

Amanda @ Simple Girl, Simple Pleasures

There were also an influx of company commenters. I have a sneaking suspicion that some (not all) of them saw my last new-commenter-appreciation and thought YAY! FREE LINK!

I’m not rolling with that. So my apologies if you are commenting from a company blog and this is not your thought pattern; I’m a suspicious type, and need to protect the integrity of my blog. So I’ll have to have company blogs proven to me prior to linking to them on my site. I don’t believe in free company advertising.

Anyway, happy Sunday, friends!

  1. Good luck on your upcoming final Daisy. It must be nice to have a relaxing day like that without having to worry about homework.

And thanks for mentioning my blog. Much appreciated. We’ll have to do another blogger meetup soon.

  2. Thanks for the inclusion Daisy!
I’m totally with you on the “free-advertising” – there’s helping those in need, and then there’s the types who dig free links. Happy Sunday!

  4. If you give props to all the corporate commenters, should you also extend the courtesy to the spam bots?!?

    Frank @ FastFreeRolexes
    Dorothea @BuyADressToday

Not to mention all the spam bots that aren’t really PG rated… =)

Congrats on finishing up school – and good job lazing about. When I was in school, I would generally have so much going on at the end of the semester that I would hibernate for about a week every time the semester ended. I’d sleep for 15+ hours/day for 5 or 6 days in a row to recover. After that I’d be good to go!

  5. Wow congrats on your upcoming graduation!! And thanks for the mention :)

I had a nice relaxing weekend myself getting caught up on easy errands and catching up with friends. I didn’t get as much done as I hoped, but I think I’ve finally kicked my cold goodbye, so I am SO happy about that!
