It seems like a recurring thread throughout most of the finance world’s blogosphere is that discussing your finances with other people is beneficial. Especially members of your family or experts who can really argue persuasively against or for your positions. I think the biggest risk is not having a plan that both people are comfortable with. This can really hit true if you have people with different spending philosophies (e.g. spenders vs. savers) in which case more frequent check-ins and adjustments may be needed to keep things moving smoothly.
