I love this post! I agree that it’s great to have a network of people to learn from – one blog leads to another, which leads to a personal finance expert you haven’t heard of before, new ideas, etc etc. Blogging is an outlet for me as well, and you’re right about the accountability – once it’s on the internet, it’ll live on in perpetuity, which is pretty good motivation.

I think most of all, because it does offer up a record of sorts of my life. I couldn’t remember what I did last NYE, for example. But my blog told me!

I blog because I’ve always been a writer. I write for a living, and blogging semianonymously gives me an outlet to, well, let loose personally without needing to scrutinise, necessarily, every word.

Hahahha if you make a pin that says I love blogging I will wear one with you:) I love blogging too. I’ve been doing it since high school but now instead of talking about my day and the classes I slept through and skipped, I try to write about more intelligent stuff. For me it really holds me accountable! I also like finding people with similar interests since most of my IRL friends know diddly squat about finances, and I certainly don’t want to share my financial situation w/ them. I find it funny that my online PF buddies know more about my finances than my IRL friends but c’est la vie:)

I’m hoping I stick with it. I find it gets easier to stick to when you have people commenting and interacting with you – the community you are talking about. Really, virtual friendly bloggers are a nice crowd. And they aren’t shy to tell you when you’re wrong – or being dumb.
