All great points, though I’d argue in favor of KSU since it’s even cheaper than KU 😉 But yes, you make an excellent point. The quality of the education is not necessarily tied to the price tag of the school.

I feel like I got an excellent education at KU and, when I attended, tuition was darn cheap. The mantra of going to the best school no matter the cost seems so very short-sighted to me and is a real disservice to 18-year-olds who usually have no concept of how their student loans will follow them through life!
