2014: The Plan

In late December, I scheduled some time to think about how 2013 treated me, but I didn’t really have the motivation to figure out what I wanted to do in 2014.

2014, regardless of whether or not I meet my goals, will be a busy year for my fiance and me. We’re getting married in six months, and going on an amazing dream honeymoon two months after that. Both my fiance and I will be getting raises, regardless of whether or not we get promotions, and those are just the little things that we know about and are planning for.

I’m going to throw some goals on top, because why not? So here’s to 2014 the plan:

good goals for 2014

1. Lose 15 Lbs

So, funny story (true story) – I lost around 10 pounds between the summer of 2013 and Christmas, but then the holidays hit and I gained a couple back.

If I lose 15 lbs, I’ll have exceeded my goal weight by 2 pounds.

Another part of this story is the fact that I found my wedding dress. It’s perfect, the complete opposite of what I wanted (who knew you actually had to try them on before making a decision), and is coming in one size too small for my (current) frame.

This is going to have to happen. I have no choice.

2. $20,00 in Online Income

I had a pretty good year in 2013 when it comes to online income, and I feel somewhat guilty for not increasing my goal a bit more than $20,000 for 2014, but with the crazy year ahead of me, I don’t want to set myself up for failure as I have less time and motivation to hustle.

I need to make just under $1,700/month to meet this goal.

3. 1 Hour/Day Unplugged

I want to spend one hour per day completely unplugged, away from the blogs, the TV, and the phone. The purpose of this is to spend time with my dogs and my fiance, without having distractions around.

In 2013, I spent so much time online or using technology, which is fine, but it led to some restless nights and even my first ever migraine.

4. Get a Promotion

I’m really into my job lately, and I am hoping to get a promotion in 2014. Because I work for a public organization, this isn’t going to be just offered to me. I’ll have to apply on higher rated positions as they come up, and ensure that I am taking steps toward professional development.

I hope I’m able to surpass all of these goals, obviously, but being able to just meet them all would be definitely a cause for celebration.

  1. Nice plan Daisy. My friends used to work in a bridal shop and they would scold you so badly about the dress – unless it’s just because you put on a few pounds, rather than intentionally ordered it in that size. I can hear their voices in my head “a dress can be reasonably altered down three sizes. Up is a mess”

I love the income you’re striving for. Good Luck!

    1. Haha, well in my defence, the sample I tried on was 2 sizes too small for me and still did up and looked great, it was just a little difficult to walk in. It’s a corset back so I’m not concerned either way, but I’ve been steadily losing for the past year so I can’t imagine the next half year being any different!
